No Key stage assessments took place in July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Assessments have also been cancelled in 2021.
Nonington Primary school has very small year groups.
Year 1 Phonics Test
At the end of Year 1 pupils take a phonic test to assess if they have achieved an expected level of phonic understanding. The expected standard is to score 32 or greater out of 40.
In 2019 50% of pupils reached the expected standard.
5 Pupils in Year 2 were eligible for re-screening. 4 pupils took the test. 75% have now achieved the expected standard.
Key Stage 1 Teacher Assessments
At the end of Key Stage 1 pupils are teacher assessed against National curriculum criteria.
In 2019 64% met the expected standard in reading; 64% met the expected standard in writing; 55% met the expected standard in mathematics.
Key Stage 2 SATs
At the end of Key Stage 2 pupils are tested and teacher assessed against National Curriculum criteria. This year our writing teacher assessments were externally moderated.
In 2019 33% met the expected standard in reading; 50% met the expected standard in writing; 33% met the expected standard in mathematics . 17% of pupils met the expected or above standard in reading, writing and mathematics. 50% achieved expected or above in reading, spelling and punctuation.
The average scaled score in reading was 96, in grammar, punctuation and spelling 95 and in mathematics 91.
Progress scores in reading was -0.1, writing 2.9 and in mathematics -6.3.
