Nonington Primary school has very small year groups.
Early Years Foundation Stage
Pupils achieve a good level of development if they achieve the early learning goal in the following areas: Listening and Attention, Understanding, Speaking, Health and self-care, Moving and Handling, Self-confidence and Self Awareness, Managing feelings and Behaviour, Making Relationships, Reading, Writing, Numbers and Shapes, Space, and Measures.
In 2017 64% of cohort achieved the good level of development indicator, this was slightly below the average of for Kent and above the 2017 national percentage.
Year 1 Phonics Test
At the end of Year 1 pupils take a phonic test to assess if they have achieved an expected level of phonic understanding. The expected standard is to score 32 or greater out of 40.
In 2017 57% of pupils reached the expected standard, which was below the national percentage.
Key Stage 2 SATs
At the end of Key Stage 2 pupils are tested and teacher assessed against National Curriculum criteria. This year our writing teacher assessments were externally moderated.
There were 10 pupils in Year 6 in 2017, 5 children had additional educational needs and were educated in a specialist resource provision.
In 2017 80% met the expected standard in reading and none were working at greater depth. This is above the national average.
The average scaled score in reading is 110.
In 2017 40% met the expected standard in writing and none were working at greater depth. This is below the national average.
In 2017 70% met the expected standard in maths and none were working at greater depth. This is below the national average.
The average scaled score in maths is 104.
Spelling punctuation and grammar
In 2017 60% met the expected standard in SPAG. This is below the national average.
The school’s progress scores were +4.8 in reading, -9.4 in writing and -0.6 in mathematics. Progress in reading was in the top 10% of schools in the country.
